Eye Injection Aftercare
What to expect after your eye injection and when to call urgently.
After an injection
Some irritation is common for 24–48 hours.
- Your eye may feel sore, scratchy, or “like something is in it” for 24–48 hours.
- The white of your eye may become very red.
- You may have blood-tinged tears.
- You may take over-the-counter pain medication if you are able to take it.
- You may use natural or artificial tears every half hour after the injection for comfort.
Call urgently
Please call us immediately at 214-233-6170 if you notice severe eye pain, sensitivity to light, or decreased vision, as this may be a sign of infection.
Please go to your local emergency room, preferably with eye-care coverage, or to your referring eye-care provider if you do not receive an immediate response from our team.
